Hardly any other German band has had such an extraordinary and long career as the SCORPIONS. As part of their 60th anniversary celebrations, the exceptional rockers around frontman Klaus Meine are returning to their hometown of Hanover for a very special show. They will be joined by numerous friends of the band and a lot of nostalgia. We were there for you at the press conference in Hanover and can give you some great info!
Thanks to lightinmirror.de for the wonderful pictures! That was quite a state of emergency!

All the Way from the Start
But first of all, back to the beginning: last week, at relatively short notice and unexpectedly, I received an invitation entitled “60 Years of Scorpions”. I admit that at first I thought it was a joke. But it wasn’t! It was real!
Of course, there was no question that we had to accept. For me, the SCORPIONS are one of the best bands we’ve ever produced in this country!
Apart from the (unintentional) soundtrack to the peaceful revolution in 1989 with Wind of Change or classics like Still Loving You and Rock You Like A Hurricance, the albums In Trance, Blackout, Savage Amusement and the live album Tokyo Tapes are an integral part of my musical background. Then there’s my absurd passion for collecting patches from that time!
It’s certainly obvious that 60 years as a band is extraordinary. While hardly any relationships last 10 years in everyday life, this group has lasted six times as long. In the process, they have written music history and continue to inspire generations today. “We’re not thinking about stopping, even if we don’t know what awaits us around the next bend,” says singer Klaus Meine.

Coming Home
A career like this needs to be celebrated in style, so a very special concert will be held at the Heinz von Heiden Stadium in Hanover on July 5, 2025. After two years of preparation, the SCORPIONS are taking on the challenge of playing in their hometown, but they won’t be doing it alone: the hard rock titans from JUDAS PRIEST will be joining them and BÜLENT CEYLAN will also be there with his band. There will also be other guests for special song performances and certainly one or two other support acts. But you’ll have to wait a little longer for these announcements…
But you won’t have to wait much longer for the pre-sale for this extraordinary event: it starts tomorrow at 10:00 on Eventim! Yesterday, all those who bought a ticket for this year’s canceled concerts had the right of first refusal. The prices range from 78,75€ for the cheapest category to 151,75€ for the Front of Stage tickets! That’s half the price of a Taylor Swift concert, which I think is very fair!
But even if you can’t make it to the concert, Hanover has plenty to offer to mark this special anniversary: There will be a specially set up SCORPIONS museum in the week before the concert until the end of the week after the concert, which will be filled to the brim with special memorabilia. There will also be a special SCORPIONS post office for your special postcards, where you can not only get your hands on special SCORPIONS stamps, but there will also be a special postmark. In short: there’s a lot going on!
So the world will be visiting the SCORPIONS in Hanover and if you ask me, it’s an event you shouldn’t miss!
